A video that Canadian anti-ISIL fighter Nazzareno Tassone shared with friends before he was killed in Syria two weeks ago shows him in high-spirits, excitedly watching an A-10 Warthog warplane, probably belonging to international coalition forces. The video, obtained by the National Post, was posted Sept. 18. A second video he sent, of Kurdish fighters firing from a rooftop, is dated Sept. 30. The former Edmonton resident joined the Kurdish YPG militia on June 30 and was killed when ISIL attacked his position in Raqqah province on Dec. 22. Ryan Lock of the U.K. and several Kurdish fighters also lost their lives. Tassone’s family in Niagara Falls, Ont. is now trying to get his body back to Canada.
