Military police have been brought in to investigate an alleged case of voyeurism after a smartphone was found hidden in a women’s change room at a Toronto defence facility.
The investigation began months ago but the Canadian Forces is only now acknowledging the incident.
“The investigation into this incident began in the summer of 2016,” confirmed DND spokeswoman Ashley Lemire. “As the incident is currently under investigation, no further details can be released at this time.”
She noted that a member of the Canadian Forces is currently the subject of an investigation in relation to a report of “alleged voyeurism at a defence establishment in Toronto.” No other details were being released.
The CBC reported that a female Canadian Forces member in Downsview found a smart phone taped under a sink in a women’s change room.
